Julianna Pena speaks about her fight and the pressure that followed
Amanda Nunes vs Julianna Pena is a legendary match which no one will forget in the years to come. It is one of the best matches and probably the biggest upset in the history of UFC. She defeated Nunes in a TKO with a rear-naked chokehold in the second half.
The entire UFC fanbase and the fighters were taken aback by this achievement of the underrated fighter who defeated the top dog of the bantamweight division to win the title. There were speculations about Nunes just giving the match away to Pena, and Pena seems to be offended by these baseless accusations.
In a recent interview video, she was heard saying, “We definitely said that I was gonna win and we were gonna have a rematch, so looks like everything is lining up the way it’s supposed to.“
When asked, “Do you think Amanda wants a rematch?” Julianna replied, “Yeah, why wouldn’t she? She was the champ for so long and if she wants a rematch, she deserves it. If she wants it, she wants it and I want it and I’m willing to give it then it’s only a matter of time before they set it up.”
Julianna Pena strikes back at critics and haters who think she didn’t deserve to win
Julianna Pena was tired of all the heavy media attention and criticizers who couldn’t tolerate seeing her win. She was asked by the interviewer if she had given a thought about the date of the rematch, to which Julianna said, “There is one thing I would love to do and that is basking in my moment. Can I just bask in my moment and be happy that I’m the champion. I have been encamped since last August. I don’t know if any other fighter is encamped longer than me.”
Wanting to spend some time with her beloved daughter, Julianna declared, ” I have been grinding for so long and I think that my daughter deserves some attention. Her birthday’s coming up soon and I’d like to take her to Disneyworld.”
