“He was dominated in his last three bouts,” Khabib Nurmagomedov advises Tony Ferguson to announce his retirement

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson
The former UFC Lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov never got a chance to face the former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson. This fight is considered as most cursed fight in UFC history as even after getting booked on five different occasions, it never happened.
Now, Ferguson is on a three-fight losing streak and according to his arch-nemesis Khabib he should announce his retirement. In his latest interview with RT Sports, when Khabib Nurmagomedov was asked about Tony Ferguson he says,
“He is 38 years old, Tell me how he can make a comeback? He was dominated in his last three bouts. Different styles – a striker, a grappler… Dariush, Oliveira, Gaethje, they all dominated him both standing up and on the ground. When you are 38, I believe, you have to pull the brakes and there have to be people around him to say: ‘Hey, you are aging, you have to stop.’”
Ferguson held the record for longest active win streak in the Lightweight division before he lost to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 and Khabib announced his retirement after holding a perfect record of 29-0.
Khabib Nurmagomedov also pointed out at his teammate Shamil Zavurov

‘The Eagle’ further explained why he wants Tony Ferguson to retire by pointing out his teammate Shamil Zavurov. He competed in his 47th pro fight last month and won 11 out of his last 12 fights, still, Khabib wants Shamil Zavurov to announce his retirement soon.
Khabib added, “We have been saying that to Shami for the last year and a half, Shamil is far from young, too. We gave our all to persuade him this should be his farewell fight. Although if we had not told him that he would’ve fought until he was 45. So… fighting is a tough business.”
“Especially, when you are not young and you keep getting knocked out. That affects your health. He has, like, more than 10 kids – he has to raise them. You have to think about the future, not just your MMA career. You turn 40, 50, 60 years old, how are you going to live life when you are over 50? You have to think about the future.”
