“Kind of a Boring Fight”- Justin Gaethje Reveals He Did Not Like His UFC 268 Slugfest Against Michael Chandler

Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler won the honors for BT Sport ‘Fight of the Year‘ award. But according to Gaethje’s recollection of the fight, he felt the fight was boring.
Most of the fans around the world considered the fight as ‘Fight of the Year‘. But Gaethje has other thoughts on the fight. Gaethje believes he was in the fight, more to get the win than to hurt and knock out Chandler, and it made the fight boring to him.
Gaethje said, “To be completely honest with you I felt like that was kind of a boring fight when I was in there. Yeah, It just makes no sense. It was first time I was ever wanted to win than to knock somebody out. So yeah, it was not good I didn’t like it. I wanna go back to where I just wanted to hurt somebody but now that I have won and I got my title shot. I can go back to how it should be.”

Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler received the 2021 President’s Choice Award for Fight of the Year
Justin Gaethje defeated Michael Chandler in a crazy, high-volume fight, which saw both fighters getting hurt on different occasions. The fight received the 2021 President’s Choice Award for Fight of the Year.
The fight itself was swinging both ways throughout three rounds. In the first round, Chandler had success, and he hurt Gaethje and won the round. Gaethje turned it around in the second round and won most exchanges. Round 2 was all for Gaethje. In round 3, after having early success, Chandler went into some zone where he didn’t care about winning or losing. He was showboating with his hands down and Gaethje paid him for that. Gaethje landed some good shots in the third round to get a unanimous decision win.
Gaethje is waiting for an opportunity to fight for the title against Charles Oliveira sometime this summer.
