Women’s flyweight contest between Luana Carolina (8-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC and Molly McCann (11-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC) just went down at UFC London: Volkov vs Aspinall. Luana was on 2 fight winning streak, and McCann was coming off from an impressive victory over Ji Yeon Kim.
Round 1 – Carolina and Molly acquired the center of the octagon as soon as the fight started. Molly was pushing the pace, and she walked down Carolina with her forward pressure. Well placed knee from Carolina stung her opponent, but Molly caught it and landed a big overhand right that shook Carolina. Molly went for the finish, but Carolina survived, and Molly was gasses out from the flurry.
Carolina was hanging on for dear life, but Molly caught her again with a big shot, she was stunned and Molly went in for the kill. Carolina defended well, and Molly had to take some power off from her shots to preserve her stamina. Great fight round for Molly.
Round 2 – Molly listened to her corner and took a more cautious approach to this round. She caught Carolina in the clinch, but her opponent defended well and squeezed in some good knees to the body. Molly went in and landed a power takedown. She moved into side control, but nothing significant landed on the ground, they got up, and just as the round was ending, Carolina picked her up from the ground and slammed headfirst on the canvas. Another dominating round from the hometown hero.

Round 3 – Luanna knew she had to go for the finish if she wants to win this fight. She moved in with sharp punches, but Molly kept her calm and withered the storm. Molly wanted a fistfight, and she stayed right in her face, these two traded some heavy shots, but Molly knocked out Carolina cold after hitting her with a perfectly placed spinning elbow.
