With just 10 days left for the event, UFC 264 has already lost a fight on the main card. Louis Smolka has withdrawn from his fight against ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley. The fight was supposed to kick off the main card which is headlined by the trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.

The news was first reported by Ariel Helwani who stated that Louis Smolka had pulled out due to an undisclosed injury. The tweet also mentioned that the UFC were planning to keep Sean O’Malley on the card. However, they have not landed an opponent for ‘Sugar’ yet.

What’s next for Sugar Sean?

Helwani’s tweet read, “Louis Smolka is out of next weekend’s UFC 264 fight versus Sean O’Malley, sources say. Undisclosed injury. They were scheduled to be on the PPV main card. UFC is hoping to keep O’Malley on the card, I’m told, but no new opponent locked in yet.

O’Malley was coming off a victory over Thomas Almeida at UFC 260. He had actually come back after the first-ever loss in his MMA career, against Marlon Vera at UFC 252. Following the news, several fighters offered to fight Sean O’Malley. Here are a few of them.

Up and coming featherweight star Giga Chikadze weighed in, “I’m always GAME.”

Number 10 ranked flyweight Tim Elliott made his thoughts known, “I’ll take that! My opponent was injured!

Less than 2 weeks? I accept.

The Machine, Merab Dvalishvili went one step above the others. He stated that he would fight O’Malley and later, fight Marlon Vera in September. He said, “If @SugaSeanMMA needs an opponent I am ready and I will still fight Marlon in September!
