“I do believe Petr Yan kicks his a**”- Marlon Vera is pretty confident in Yan’s ability to beat Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273

Marlon Vera on Petr Yan
Only two more days left for one of the most anticipated rematches in the bantamweight division. Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling take on each other in a title unifier bout in the co-main event of UFC 273. The fight takes place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, this weekend. All the fighters have arrived at the Arena and the ceremonial face-offs went down perfectly.
Sterling and Yan cannot genuinely hate each other, and they can’t wait to step inside the octagon in this much-awaited bantamweight title rematch. Sterling is coming off from career-changing neck surgery, and he was out of action for over 9 months. Yan, on the other hand, fought Cory Sandhagen for the interim bantamweight title, and he looked better than ever.
Another bantamweight prospect, Marlon Vera is keeping a close eye on this fight, and without a shadow of a doubt, he picked Yan to just run through Sterling in this rematch.
“Trying to f*** somebody up but chilling instead of going crazy“- Marlon Vera names Petr Yan’s composure as his greatest attribute

Vera discussed this in an interview with Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, he said Sterling is a great athlete, and even though MMA is so unpredictable Yan has all the tools required to get things done at UFC 273. “You see a guy that comes from jiu-jitsu and doesn’t give two f**** and just starts swinging for the fences… it’s hard to read those punches,” Vera said. That’s why you’ve got to spar with a little bit of everything. But everybody can punch in MMA. The glove is small and there are so many things you can do. You can clinch, you can fight on the fence.”
“So, on paper, I do believe Yan kicks his a**, because Sterling gets tired every time he’s not able to get ahold of you,” Vera continued. “It’s like his heart rate gets high pretty quick, he gets a little anxious, and Yan is pretty calm in there. I like that because I feel I do the same thing, where it’s almost like you’re chilling in there… trying to f*** somebody up but chilling instead of just going crazy.”
