“Nick Diaz Army Motherf*****” – Nate Diaz hails brother Nick as “The GOAT”

Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz

Nick Diaz returned to the Octagon after almost 7 years. Having last fought in January 2015, Diaz took on old foe Robbie Lawler in a five-round non-title fight at UFC 266. A rematch 17 years in the making. The two previously met in April 2004, at UFC 47, with Diaz earning a TKO win over Lawler.

Back to UFC 266 at T-Mobile Arena; the fight began with a bang – both the fighters going hammer and tongs. The volume of strikes both kept landing was amazing. Despite Nick Diaz throwing a fusillade of punches, Lawler stood his ground and kept coming at the Stockton man.

Finally, in round 3, Lawler exacted revenge after 17 years, after his check hook caught Diaz, had him grounded, before an uppercut sealed the deal. Failing to respond to the referee’s call (to get up), Diaz lost the fight via TKO.

Following brother Nick Diaz’s loss, younger brother Nate Diaz took to Instagram to share a photo of Nick Diaz at UFC 266, calling him the GOAT. He also captioned the post, “The GOAT! Nick Diaz army Motherfucker.”

Nate, made a return to the Octagon after almost 2 years. He took on Leon Edwards at UFC 263, and almost produced a stunning KO victory in the very last minute after having been dominated for the entirety of the fight. He is flirting with the possibility of fighting top-ranked welterweight Vicente Luque next.

As for Nick, it is not clear if he would continue fighting. Even a vast majority of his fans feel that the elder ‘West Coast Gangster’ should retire. However, Nick hasn’t opened up about the same. But his return to the Octagon was a treat to watch.
