Khabib Nurmagomedov’s fighting contract leaked as UFC faces a $1.6 billion lawsuit. UFC is currently facing one of his biggest legal battles. Thousands of fighters remain on the verge of suing them. A group of mixed martial arts competitor banded together in December 2014 to file a class-action lawsuit against Zuffa LLC. They are the parent corporation of the UFC.

Cung Le, Nate Quarry, and Jon Fitch are the leaders of this group. They thought that the UFC employed “improper strategies” to control the market for MMA fighter services. Essentially, these fighters claimed the UFC paid them far less than market value. This has caused the UFC to become a monopoly in the professional MMA market, which is bad for all MMA fighters.

Approximately 1,200 other active and retired UFC fighters joined this group. Following over six years of litigation, the court announced in December 2020 that it intended to formally recognize this group as a “class” of fighters and provided a written opinion regarding the matter.

This implies that every one of the roughly 1,200 fighters who meet the requirements for the class is automatically included in the case. They may receive a portion of the money between $800 million and $1.6 billion, if the action is successful.

Nurmagomedov has not fought since 2020. He currently trains his team members such as Islam Makhachev to continue their legacy. However, despite his lack of interest in MMA and limelight, the fighter often gets dragged into the media.

Recently, a contract that Khabib Nurmagomedov signed early in his UFC career has now been made public as part of the legal dispute, according to the MMA payout. According to the document, ‘The Eagle’ was paid in between 21K to 30K to show up in his early days of fighting. However he might have re-negotiated his contract to earn almost 80K against Edson Barboza. Other than that there were other details about his fight purse including the iconic fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
