Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor are coaches of the TUF 31 before they fight inside the Octagon. Chandler has spoken highly appreciative of everything McGregor has been through, and it appears they might not like each other after all. It is said that familiarity breeds contempt, which is the phase Chandler and McGregor are going through right now.

Chandler said, “Conor and I have a lot of mutual respect for one another, but I don’t know if we like each other much to be thought of where we are going to, and the good thing is we get to settle it with four once gloves under a certain ruleset and a contest later on this year.” McGregor is known for his mind games before a fight, and the non-trash-talking Michael Chandler is getting sick of these antics.

Michael Chandler lost via submission against Dustin Poirier at UFC 281. Before that, he had a spectacular knockout against Tony Ferguson. Chandler has fought only elite competition in the UFC against Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, Dan Hooker, and Tony Ferguson.

Conor McGregor, on the other hand, will look for his first win since 2020. He had back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier; he suffered a horrible leg injury in the second fight. He will return to his best version to make one more attempt at the Lightweight Championship.

The Lightweight division is full of contenders; some have a better winning streak than Chandler. However, the former Bellator champ’s electric performances inside the octagon have continued to keep him alive among the title shot conversations.

To leapfrog the other contenders, he needs to win against McGregor. Chandler is competing against Beneil Dariush, who is on an eight-fight winning streak but is not fighting for the title. If Chandler beats McGregor, his name value would increase significantly and give him a better chance at a title shot.

Currently, Michael Chandler is shooting the TUF 31 opposite, Conor McGregor. It will serve as a lead-up to their fight later this year. Fans are eager to see what version of McGregor will turn up to fight. Considering the fighting style of both of them, it is likely to be over inside the distance.
