Volkanovski’s active willingness to pitch in has won over fight fans many times. Now, amidst UFC 298’s title defense with Ilia Topuria, he wants to make a quick return for UFC 300!

Volkanovski meets challenger Ilia Topuria for his 5th title defense. It’s his return to the 145lbs division after losing to Islam Makhachev for a second time last October. However, Volk wowed the fight fans with his statement on UFC 300. This is what the Aussie said:

They are struggling with, you know, UFC 300, whoever they are... I know a guy.. .you know what I mean? There's plenty of time, so... just in case if there's anything happening - Dana, Hunter...ruin someone's party...or come save the day...like I always do...

Lately, every fight fan has pondered over who should headline UFC 300. With the latest fight card update leaving fans underwhelmed, Volkanovski yet again shows his fondness for last-minute bookings. With the historic card right around the bend, the featherweight champ made a case to Dana White and promotional litigator Hunter Campbell to cue him in if need be.

Despite cocky challenger Ilia Topuria disregarding his five previous defenses, the champ remains sure of his stint and mettle. Recently, Volk attended the UFC 298 pre-fight press conference in Sydney with Robert Whittaker and Justin Tafa. There, he mentioned that preparation was key to all outcomes, irrespective of odds/chances. Hence, he remains ready for wherever he has to fight next.

Ilia Topuria has pulled many stunts ahead of UFC 298. Attending the Fight Week Media Day for UFC 298, the undefeated Spaniard posed with the title belt. Volk had no problem giving the belt to Topuria for the photoshoot.

Volkanovski told Topuria to use the chance to grab the title as he would not take it home after UFC 298. The interaction showed why Volk remains unaffected by the trash talk and stunts pulled by Topuria. Check out the interaction that ensued in the footage below:
