UFC’s reigning featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski likes his chances against the best lightweight fighters of the UFC right now.

Alexander Volkanovski is currently dominating the featherweight division. The champ is eyeing a move to the lightweight division and etch his names as one of the double champs in UFC history. The fighter believes he is too good for the 145 division and will most probably challenge for the lightweight belt once he seals his trilogy fight against his fierce rival Max Holloway. Volk recently appeared on the MMA Hour hosted by Ariel Helwani.

On the show, Volkanovski spoke about taking on the lightweight division given he sees no real threat to his skills. The Aussie is very confident in his skills to beat the top lightweights and is also comfortable weighing as a 155-pounder. In his interview with Helwani he said that the world be surprised at how easy he will make it look in fights against the best of the lightweight division. The 155-pound division is one of the most dangerous weight classes in the UFC, but not for Volkanovski.

“I’m looking at [UFC lightweights] and I see great opportunities in that fight,” said Volkanovski talking to Ariel Helwani. The fans have shown lot of interest in a potential lightweight title fight between him and Charles Oliveira.

“I don’t look at this as that big of a challenge. I want to go for the double champ status. Believe me, it ain’t going to be as hard as what some people think it’s going to be to do,” said Volkanovski on his chances against the best of the lightweight division. Volkanovski used to weigh around 200 pounds during his Rugby days. Volkanovski is coming off a stunning, dominant victory against The Korean Zombie at UFC 273.

Alexander made it look absolutely easy in his last title defense as he knocked out the fighter. Alex has also showed his interest in fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor. According to Volkanovski, he wants to take out all of the best fighters. Dana White, the boss of the UFC has also said he would be open to offering Alexander Volkanovski a direct shot at the lightweight title if he takes care of his trilogy fight against Max Holloway.
