Aljamain Sterling is the UFC Bantamweight Champion. He has one of the best Jiu-Jitsu skills in the division. He will take on former champion and Olympic Gold medal winner Henry Cejudo for his third title defense. Recently, he gave an interview to ESPN MMA to promote his upcoming fight. He made a bold prediction on what will happen in their bout.

Aljamain Sterling said, “It’s a different game when you step in the ring with me. I think I bring a different style, different pace, and I don’t think he’s felt top control the way I have done. I feel its gonna be like when Chael Sonnen fought Jon Jones. Chael Sonnen compared it to getting mauled by a bear. I think that’s what is going to happen. I just want to know what does he think will be his path to victory? Good Luck Henry!

Chael Sonnen fought Jon Jones at UFC 159. Sonnen had a high-level wrestling pedigree and even mauled Anderson Silva in their first bout. Analysts then believed that wrestling remained the only path to victory for Sonnen. However, when the fight started, Jon Jones outwrestled Sonnen and was defeated by TKO in the first round. Sterling believes Cejudo will have the same fate as Sonnen in their upcoming title fight.

Sterling believes Cejudo did not fight anyone like him in the past. He also believes that Cejudo can only win via knockout. UFC 288 will feature a welterweight co-main event fight. Perennial contender Belal Muhammad will take on Gilbert Burns in a potential title eliminator. Fight fans look forward to seeing if Sterling can back his talk inside the Octagon.

Former champion Henry Cejudo expects to finish Aljamain Sterling before the fourth round. They will compete for the Bantamweight title at UFC 288. Cejudo will look to regain the title that he never lost.

In an interview with ESPN MMA, Cejudo said, “I’m just better in every area than this guy. Aljamain knows I’m the guy out of everybody on the whole roster, whether he wants to say he’s gonna put me out in two rounds or I don’t deserve it, I’m letting you babysit my belt. He knows that I’m just the toughest matchup stylistically. I know he knows what I’m capable of doing. This fight doesn’t go past three rounds.

Only time will tell if Cejudo can finish Sterling in their title fight. If Sterling can retain the title, he will tie the record for the most title defenses in the Bantamweight division. The winner of the fight will fight Sean O’Malley in the future.
