Alex Pereira after winning the UFC Middleweight title against long-reigning champion Israel Adesanya took his belt back to his tribe. Alex Pereira goes back to Brazil to dedicate the highest accolade as a middleweight MMA athlete to his tribe.
Pereira has finally got his hands on the UFC Middleweight belt after winning against Israel Adesanya in UFC 281, in a spectacular fashion causing a late upset. This was his second victory against The Stylebender who defended his title 5 times. Pereira responded to this win by showing respect and gratitude for his roots and going back and presenting them with the belt.
Alex Pereira was born in the favelas of Brazil and due to his really bad financial status, he had to start working at an early age. His life turned around when he went to a gym and was later going to various fights and winning them. Eventually becoming the national champion.
Whenever he had an upset he went back to Brazil to reset and always came back stronger. “Poatan” visited his tribe and dedicated the belt. Indicating that they had a role to play in his getting the most sought-after belt in the MMA world.

What a warrior honor to be able to welcome you here,” read the Instagram caption. The leader also added by writing, “a guy who represents our people a lot, always welcome here in this sacred place.”
Alex Pereira looks to have made his tribe proud by winning the belt and representing them in the highly coveted organization, UFC. Pereira previously made the switch to the Light Heavy Weight division in kickboxing and was successful, can fight fans expect him to go for the light heavyweight division title as well?
The Tribe was with Alex Pereira even before the fight
Alex Pereira had worn the face mask and headgear during the face-off against Israel Adesanya during UFC 281. he represented them during the face-off and after the fight, dedicated his belt to them.
Fans and the crowd present there were surprised to see him with the makeup and headgear during the face-off. Many people who didn’t know what it was even mocked and trolled him for it. But after knowing what it represented to him and seeing him fight, no one would dare to raise another word on this matter against the UFC Middleweight champion.
Pereira was always representing his tribe from the get-go. The man who has barely shown any emotions in the octagon has shown immense gratitude and respect for his roots and beginnings.
