Stephen Thompson, in his comeback fight at UFC Orlando put on a clinical display of striking as he defeated Kevin Holland in the fourth round. This was Thompson’s first UFC fight in over a year, having last fought in December of 2021. However, ‘Wonderboy’ looked as good as ever during it.

Thompson did have to put up with some adversity early on in the fight. But once he got going, he completely took over as he outclassed Holland in the striking department. It was an absolute war as the two went back and forth on the feet with Thompson absolutely shutting down Holland’s offense at points. Thompson’s elite management of distance and hand control were on full display against the Trailblazer. He negated Holland’s reach as he counterstruck to perfection, curbing Holland before he could even get started properly.

Eventually, by the end of the fourth round, Kevin Holland’s corner had to throw in the towel. This was Thompson’s first victory in the UFC in nearly two years and he got it in dominant fashion. With the momentum firmly in his corner, Stephen Thompson could use this win to help catapult him to a title opportunity.

Stephen Thompson looked incredible in his comeback fight against Kevin Holland at UFC Orlando. With him putting on an absolute clinic, he has solidified his spot as one of the greatest welterweight strikers in the UFC.
