Popular YouTube figure and bodybuilder Bradley Martyn may frequently emphasize his robust 260-pound physique. But that bulk did not offer much advantage when he took on 56-year-old stand-up comedian Bryan Callen.
In recent months, Martyn has captured the MMA community’s attention. Martyn’s videos of boldly suggesting he could hold his own against some of the top MMA fighters have gone viral on social media. This piqued the curiosity of fight enthusiasts, eager to witness if Bradley Martyn could actually hold his claims.
However, it appears that we may have already received a sneak peek into Martyn’s capabilities. A video clip showcasing Martyn’s grappling with Joe Rogan‘s friend Bryan Callen has recently gone viral on social media. Martyn had recently challenged Sean Strickland ahead of his main event fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 for the middleweight title.
However, Bradley Martyn faced significant challenges in making any moves against the 155-pound comedian. Sean Strickland is a professional UFC fighter who ranks #5 in the UFC middleweight rankings. It is safe to say that after this video, we all know what the outcome of that fight would look like.
Will Bradley Martyn versus Demetrious Johnson actually happen?
Of all the fighters Bradley Martyn has called out in recent times, only Demetrious Johnson has accepted the challenge. However, it is the reigning ONE flyweight world champion who wanted to check the influencer’s bold claims.
Demetrious Johnson agreed to travel to California for a grappling match with Martyn. He stated on Henry Cejudo‘s YouTube channel that he found it quite amusing. Johnson stated that Bradley Martyn clearly holds the weight advantage. But in grappling, weight isn’t the sole factor, he explained.
Johnson expressed that technique plays a highly integral role in grappling. Brendan Schaub acted as the gateway in setting up the illustrious Martyn vs. Johnson grappling match. Demetrious Johnson was at the moment preoccupied with prior commitments. However, he promised that on his return, he would head to Calabasas, and engage in the intense grappling session. Johnson expressed confidence that he could handle the 260 lbs influencer. Most recently, he captured the top position at the IBJJF Masters Worlds, his first BJJ tournament.
