The final event of UFC for 2024 just concluded with UFC 296. Both the welterweight and flyweight champions defended their title in the main and co-main events respectively. Moreover, in the post-fight press conference, Dana White announced 4 blockbuster fights for UFC 299. Of the four fights, one involved the UFC debut of Michael ‘Venom’ Page, better known as MVP.

UFC 299, headlined by Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera in Miami, is shaping up to be a stacked card. White announced Kevin Holland vs. MVP, Gilbert Burns vs. Jack Della Maddalena, Song Yadong vs Petr Yan, and Ian Garry vs Geoff Neal for UFC 299. Except for the Yadong vs Yan fight, all are in the welterweight division. The Holland vs MVP fight was already in the works by the UFC, as revealed in White’s appearance on FULLSEND Podcast.

Michael Page was a free agent after his tenure with Bellator ended. Moreover, he took a picture with Dana White at UFC 294 which sparked rumors of a UFC debut. However, his face-off with Cedric Doumbe at PFL sparked the rumors of a debut at the PFL. With Page in the welterweight title picture, the division is becoming one of the most stacked divisions.

The welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, defended the title at UFC 296 against Colby Covington. Like Edwards, MVP is also from the UK. MVP is a two-time title challenger at Bellator. Moreover, he is also one of the most credentialled strikers in MMA. A fight between Edwards and MVP has the potential to become a blockbuster event in the UK.

Dana White promised UFC 300 to be the most stacked PPV ever

UFC 300 is the most anticipated fight card of 2024. Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler are rumored to headline the PPV. However, no official confirmation has been made by the UFC. Nevertheless, fans expect McGregor to return at UFC 300.

With the rumors of McGregor headlining the event, the chances of champions fighting at the event have become low. Nevertheless, White has a habit of making the biggest fights on big occasions.
