Breaking! Jose Aldo is all set to make his boxing debut on the UFC Fight Pass

Jose Aldo has finally surprised his fans and followers by confirming his upcoming professional boxing debut. The former UFC featherweight champion at the age of 36 is ready to step into the boxing ring on February 10. Aldo will take on Argentina’s Alberto Emmanuel Zambrano in Rio de Janeiro. The fight is taking place under Brazil’s popular boxing banner, Shooto Boxing. The event has collaborated with UFC and will stream live on UFC Fight Pass. 

Aldo recently took to Twitter in order to share the exciting news about his fight. The future UFC Hall of Famer mentioned that the big day is coming soon and the tickets are being sold at Flamengo.

He wrote: “The big day is coming! The TV broadcast will be on UFC Fight Pass and for those who want to see it in person, ticket sales are happening at the upper gym, in Flamengo!,” wrote Jose Aldo.

Zambrano as a professional boxer has fought thrice since his debut in 2019. Unfortunately, the fighter has lost all three of his professional bouts. In his last outing, Zambrano lost to Alexis Nahuel Torres via TKO.

Jose Aldo has always wanted to start his professional boxing career since a long time

Jose is one of the most decorated and respected UFC fighters in the history of the promotion. As an MMA fighter, the Brazilian has done everything and has built an amazing legacy for himself. 

However, Aldo has always been inclined towards boxing and as soon as his UFC contract came to an end he wanted a way out of it. Aldo’s long-time coach, Andre Pederneiras in an interview three years ago already talked about how Aldo is training hard for his boxing debut.

He said: “He’s training in boxing because he has this dream of competing in professional boxing,” Pederneiras said. “If it was up to him, he’d fight all his UFC fights (left on the contract) in three months and go box. He wants to box professionally.”

Aldo’s striking game has always been amazing and fans believe that he will certainly do well in boxing. On top of it, UFC also has recently announced that they are going to induct Aldo into the UFC Hall of Famers batch of 2023. It will be interesting to see how the legend will perform in his upcoming boxing bout.
