“He heard you TAP from heaven,” Chael Sonnen brutally demolishes Tito Ortiz’s proposal for a rematch in a LETHAL tweet

Tito Ortiz- Chael Sonnen
Chael Sonnen might have lost many wars inside the Octagon but when it comes to verbal warfare outside, you better not mess with the Bad Guy. Sonnen, the former UFC title challenger and semi-finalist of the Bellator MMA heavyweight Grand Prix, is an avid Youtuber and is very active on social media ever since he retired from competing in 2019. Sonnen is also a sports analyst for ESPN MMA and a commentator for Eagle FC.
Sonnen is known widely for his rivalry against UFC middleweight great Anderson Silva and against UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz during Sonnen’s final days of fighting in Bellator MMA. Even though he lost to both, Sonnen managed to have been bothering into the heads of both accomplished fighters. Fair to say though both Sonnen and Silva are on good terms now, Ortiz still manages to have his bad blood intact when it comes to The Bad Guy.
“My dad released me from the verbal contract,” says Chael Sonnen

In an abrupt tweet out of nowhere, Ortiz decides to challenge Sonnen, who he already defeated, for a rematch. Ortiz comes out saying “.@ChaelSonnen don’t be scared homie. Now you have a chance to keep the promise to your dad. #Ortizvscheal2” Ortiz is basically referring to the famous Chael Sonnen segment by ESPN in which once got emotional talking about his father and said that one promise he couldn’t keep till the time he was alive was beating Ortiz to become a world champion.
Sonnen sharply replied to the tweet and said “My father released me from that verbal contract when he heard you tap from heaven.” Sonnen is also making a reference. It was disputed that Ortiz tapped Sonnen first during their fight in Bellator MMA. Eventually, what was recognised officially was Sonnen tapping to Ortiz in the first round itself.

What do you make of Sonnen’s lethal one-liner response to Ortiz? Do you think a rematch between both is possible? Who do you think wins if the rematch ever happens again? Also, where do you put Sonnen amongst the greatest trash talkers of all time? Ever since Sonnen, the fighters have realised how lucrative a deal gets in the fight business if you get trash-talking involved as well. Ask Conor McGregor about it, he has mastered the art of psychological warfare fairly well.
