Chael Sonnen has given his official prediction for the co-main event of UFC 277 assuming that the City Kickboxing gym will have a brand new champion. Sonnen is a retired mixed martial artist who is an avid Youtuber for the past 3 years with more than a million subscribers and is also an analyst for ESPN MMA and commentator for Egale FC, a Russian MMA promotion owned by the great Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The co-main event of UFC 277 is an interim title fight in the flyweight division, a rematch between former undisputed champion Brandon Moreno and Kiwi mixed-martial artist Kai Kara-France. Moreno is coming off a loss from a historic trilogy fight against current champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Kara-France is coming off a huge win by defeating the previously undefeated Askar Askarov. Both are fierce strikers with Moreno having shown his skills on the ground as well. The first fight ended in favour of Moreno via unanimous decision.
Chael Sonnen thinks Kai Kara-France has got more power in his hands against Brandon Moreno
In one of the videos on his Youtube Channel, Sonnen breakdown the much-anticipated rematch between Kara-France and Moreno and why he thinks the winner will be who he predicts as the winner.
“Honest to goodness this is the unexpected treat of this division. For a number of different reasons, this is the fight,” says Sonnen. “I don’t get really excited for 125 pounds and it’s not because I dismiss them at all, just the division never did a good job… it was really hard to get this division going,” continues Sonnen talking about how Demetrious Johnson used to clean out the division and the build-up of the fight was all about being more respectful and less entertaining.
“So now we got Kai Kara-France, this guy is a problem and I am stuck in how good is Brandon Moreno… [but] Kai Kara-France can flat fight, end of the story… spread it around, this guy is crushing people… Moreno is a more technical boxer, Kara-France uses the reach better, he’s got better power on the two… nobody has momentum, like City Kickboxing [Kara-France’s gym]… I submit for you, in this case [fight] the better fighter is, Kai Kara-France,” says Sonnen.

Other exciting fights at UFC 277 include Texas’ own Derreck Lewis going against Sergei Pavlovich in a heavyweight clash and just a weight class below, former title challenger Anthony Smith will look forward to securing a win against the upcoming dark horse of the light heavyweight division, Magomed Ankalaev.
