“Can be best case scenario,” Chael Sonnen suggests what’s next for Amanda Nunes post-UFC 277 victory against Pena

Chael Sonnen is one of the many people to be impressed by Amanda Nunes’ domination of Julianna Pena in the title fight rematch at the main event of UFC 277, but just like many, he is also stuck in the idea of what’s next for the queen, “The Bad Guy” seems to have a possible solution but is not certain on it. Sonnen, a former multiple-time UFC title challenger and semifinalist in one of Bellator MMA’s Heavyweight Grand Prix tournaments, is a commentator, sports analyst and a Youtuber now.
Nunes shut her doubters down with an all-rounder of performance against Pena. From lead hand hooks that kept Pena in check and knocked her down, to insane ground control leading to devastating elbow strikes, Nunes’ gameplan was a complete shutdown of Pena from start to end. What’s next for “The Lioness” seems to be a million-dollar question for now as we reach a point where we can call Nunes the undisputed greatest women mixed martial artist of all time.

“Two weight classes and we still don’t have an answer,” Chael Sonnen on what’s next for Amanda Nunes
In one of the videos on his Youtube channel, prior to discussing what’s next for Nunes, Sonnen was all about hailing the Brazilian for her gameplan, though he found a major loophole in the gameplan for the first half of the fight which he found got covered up going later.
“The more tired you get, the more your mind will change right there on the spot,” says Sonnen “Amanda did the opposite, Amanda refused, to go on top of Julianna, now I thought that was a mistake… that is a ridiculously bad strategy, if you hurt somebody and they get down, you get on top of them right now… but Amanda didn’t do that, not once but twice but three times, it wasn’t a mistake it was an error, she didn’t pay for it… but she started going for the takedowns, they were impressive!”
“Now, Amanda ends up in the same spot, in terms of what do you do now?… For Amanda you got two weight classes to spread you still don’t have the answer, and if you do come up with it’s not the one that you care about. It’s not the one that’s going to be bankable… The best case scenario for these two is to realize ‘we’re opponents, we’re competitors, you had your excuses now let me lay out my laundry list and go into part three,'” Sonnen concludes.
