No love is lost between Chael Sonnen and Jorge Masvidal. From constant trolling to assault threats, the fighting world has seen it all, except for a brawl between them. Now, ‘The American Gangster’ recently trolled Masvidal’s upcoming boxing bout against Nate Daiz.
Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will clash heads on June 1 inside the squared circle. This wasn’t a surprise, as the rematch remained in the works for a long time. However, the matchup faced criticism since both the fighters were past their prime. Now, with animosity towards ‘Gamebred,’ Chael Sonnen trashed him for the transition to boxing. Here is what he said in his latest tweet:

Chael Sonnen’s troll stemmed from the fact Jorge Masvidal had a mediocre career in the UFC. Despite a decent record of 35 wins & 17 losses, and two title fights, Masvidal had an inconsistent career. Also, his four-fight losing streak to end his MMA profession didn’t help. As such, Sonnen insinuated at Masvidal, showcasing a lousy performance in the boxing match against Nate Diaz.
The beef between Jorge Masvidal and Chael Sonnen started when the former sided with Ariel Helwani during the feud between Sonnen and Helwani. As such, the former BMF champion trashed ‘The American Gangster’ and called him out. Further, he accused Sonnen of steroid use. All these received a fiery response from Sonnen. Since then, the former UFC fighters have gone back and forth, extending their hatred for each other.
Jorge Masvidal trolls the fighting style of Chael Sonnen
Chael Sonnen is one of the most respected individuals in the MMA circuit. Although he didn’t attain the glory of a UFC title, his witty trash-talk and wrestling abilities earned the respect of the MMA community. But, rival Jorge Masvidal completely disregarded Sonnen’s fighting style.
On his appearance on the MMA Hour show, Jorge Masvidal detailed his beef with Chael Sonnen. He even sent a callout to him for a fight. As such, he bashed Sonnen’s fighting style and attacked him for the same. Here is what he said:

Although Jorge Masvidal despised Chael Sonnen’s wrestling-heavy approach, he wanted to fight him just to settle the beef. With many retired fighters making a return to combat sports for lucrative deals, a fight between Masvidal and Sonnen remained potential. It could also sell on its own as a grudge match. However, Sonnen might be too old to compete again.
