UFC CEO Dana White has close friendships with athletes and personalities from other major sports leagues in the USA. White is a close friend of NFL legend Tom Brady and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. O’Neal and Charles Barkley had an interesting conversation on the TNT show where Barkley revealed his plans with Dana White.

Barkley owns Redmont Vodka, and his plans with White had something to do with it. Nonetheless, this is what Charles Barkley said of his plans for the Super Bowl weekend.

Dana White, uh, he's gonna help me with my Vodka Gin, Redmont Vodka and Gin, and uh, our first event is tomorrow night. I'm really excited to work with Dana; he's a good friend.

Both Barkley and O’Neal have made significant investments outside of basketball and have reaped their success. Moreover, UFC CEO Dana White also has business outside the UFC. Most of those businesses are in partnership with his close friend Lorenzo Fertitta. At present, Power Slap occupies White’s time outside the UFC.

In addition, Dana White, UFC fighters Kamaru Usman, Alexander Volkanovski, and former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou are close with O’Neal. Recently, Volkanovski even hilariously played a game of catch with Tom Brady. Kamaru Usman also has a relationship with Brady. Even Usman’s daughter has met with Brady.

Dana White goes off on mainstream media and politicians

Dana White was recently on The Pat McAfee Show, hosted on ESPN. White openly criticized the mainstream media and politicians on the podcast. When Pat McAfee asked about his relationship with the media, White revealed that it was non-existent. He went on to explain that he goes on podcasts but does not interact much with the mainstream media. White had a tough time at UFC 297, where Sean Strickland made homophobic and misogynistic remarks at the press conference.

Nonetheless, White defended Strickland’s right to express free speech, which the mainstream media found alarming. Even though he is a close friend of former US President Donald Trump, White is not a fan of politicians as he felt they were too divisive. White also revealed that he had no plans to be involved with politics in the future. The UFC CEO is a stern believer in the free market economy and has previously stated there should be less government interference in businesses.

Dana White’s no-censorship approach in the UFC is the antithesis of the approach followed by other sports leagues in the USA. The NFL, NBA, and MLB censor their athletes and impose fines on the athletes if they find the athletes’ behavior inappropriate.
