Ciryl Gane reveals his adoration for “F***ing Beautiful” Anthony Joshua as he talks about being a role model

Gane and Joshua have often been noted for the similarity ibn their appearance and demeanour
Ciryl Gane and his comparisons to Anthony Joshua have been innumerable. Though the two athletes reside in two different sports and each possess a distinctive fighting style, their physical appearance can sometimes seem uncanny. So it was a pleasant surprise to find out that Gane in fact was a huge admirer of the boxer growing up.
Gane is currently preparing for his main event bout against the Aussie sensation, Tai Tuivasa in their upcoming headliner for UFC Paris. As it’s in Gane’s hometown, the camp has been rather easy for him as he trains right down the street at the MMA Factory in Paris. During this Gane was kind enough to give one of Dan Hardy’s channel crew a deep access look into his camp.
In the nearly half-hour documentary we get to know a lot about Ciryl as a fighter and a human being from the reason he’s Nicknamed “Bon Gamin” to his favorite stretches after a tedious workout.

In the early segments of the documentary, Ciryl is asked by the interviewer about how he feels being a role model for all the young kids and upcoming fighters who also train at The MMA Factory. It was during this exchange that Gane revealed his longstanding adoration for AJ.
Expressing how surreal it was to watch people on Instagram saying that they want to be like him and want to be able to move like him, he said, “To me it’s really cool because when I started Muay Thai when I was a little bit younger, I did exactly the same with Anthony Joshua, I want to be beautiful like him”

Gane then further went on to explain how it’s amazing to see the circle continue with many kids finding inspiration in him the same way he did with Joshua. Elaborating on his admiration for the Boxer he continued, “When I was playing basketball or soccer, I liked those guys but I was never a fan, understand? But Anthony (Joshua)? I was like ‘Damn this guy is so f**** good, I want to be like him! ” as he further went on about he would do push-ups to have a physique like that of AJ.
Gane then detailed how the two crossed paths from a distance at UFC London where Joshua waved at him. The two, however, were not able to really meet due to rush and that would lead Gane to leave a message for AJ on his Instagram which as of the recording was still unanswered.
