UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington recently appeared on the PBD Podcast. There he made some harsh remarks criticizing Travis Kelce for his affiliation with Pfizer. Covington also defended Kyrie Irving whom the public previously criticized for standing up against vaccine mandates.
Travis Kelce earned $20 million from the Pfizer commercial, where he promoted a new campaign for the company endorsing vaccines. Colby Covington took offense to this and voiced his thoughts on the PBD Podcast.

Travis Kelce is an NFL superstar associated with the Kansas City Chiefs. Covington criticized Kelce’s promotion of the vaccine, deeming it irresponsible. Additionally, Covington claimed that the relationship between Kelce and Taylor Swift was fake and condemned their political stance.
Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving faced criticism for his stance on COVID-19 vaccination mandates. He opted to not get the vaccines despite NBA regulations. This decision led to his suspension from playing in certain games, impacting his career with the Brooklyn Nets. Irving expressed strong views, equating vaccine mandates with human rights violations. This contributed to much public scrutiny and negative attention for Irving.
Colby Covington revealed where he draws the line in his trash-talking
Colby Covington, in a recent statement, clarified his boundaries in trash-talking. Covington emphasized a limit to his verbal exchanges and pointed out the personal and sensitive subjects that he avoids in his promotional rhetoric.
Colby Covington said he would never go after someone’s religion or racism when trash-talking. Speaking on the PBD Podcast Covington reiterated that his trash-talk is based on the truth. And hence, he would never attack a person based on their race or religion.
Covington faced criticism for his trash talk at UFC 296. During the pre-fight press conference, Covington made a joke about taking his opponent, Leon Edwards, to hell to see his father. Edwards’ father was murdered when he was 13 years old. The majority of the MMA world agreed that Covington’s comment was inappropriate. Edwards retained his title, and Covington was beaten and booed.
