In 2015, McGregor fought Chad Mendes for the interim UFC Featherweight belt and won the fight. It was McGregor’s first-ever title in UFC which won with a spectacular knockout.

Later that year, McGregor got the opportunity to fight the UFC legend Jose Aldo for the championship belt.
