UFC legend Royce Gracie is one of the most influential figures in the MMA community. He is known as the father of jiu-jitsu and was the first champion in the UFC after his victory at UFC 1. Gracie was the first member of the prominent Gracie family of martial artists in the UFC. He recently visited the Black Forge Inn in Ireland which is owned by UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
During his visit, Gracie was met by McGregor’s long-time coach, John Kavanagh. McGregor was not present at his establishment as he was training for a potential return fight. Kavanagh spoke about his excitement about meeting the legendary fighter on Instagram. He also expressed his disappointment as McGregor who was UFC’s first double champ couldn’t join them.
McGregor is very proud of his pub and it is a center of attraction in Ireland. It is visited by many celebrities, fighters, and social media influencers. McGregor himself makes appearances at the pub and interacts with the fans. The pub has also been the target of vandalism, including a petrol bomb attack in January 2023.
Gracie retired from MMA in 2007 and is now a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He is also a philanthropist and has worked to promote Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts around the world. Fans will look forward to seeing Gracie make more public appearances.

Gracie’s success in the UFC helped to popularize Brazilian jiu-jitsu and to revolutionize mixed martial arts.
