On Sunday, UFC lightweight contender, Michael Chandler appeared on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to discuss his future in the UFC following major announcements. Michael Chandler will be coaching against Conor McGregor in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter.

This means that the two fighters will be seen throwing hands inside the octagon after the end of the TUF season. In his latest interview with Ariel Helwani, ‘Mystic Mike’ gave his predictions on the upcoming bout. Conor McGregor has confirmed his return to the octagon after a lengthy lay-off due to injury.

He’s going to feel my presence from the very beginning of the fight and then from there wherever the fight takes us. If I want to pick him up and put him down, I can pick him up and put him down and put a beating on him and get a submission that way. I believe I finish Conor in the second round. That’s my ‘Mystic Mike’ take on this,” Chandler stated in his predictions. McGregor in return, reacted on Twitter with a laughing emoji to ridicule Chandler’s ‘Mystic Mike’ claims.

Conor McGregor will be returning to the UFC after his leg break at UFC 264 in July 2021. After almost two years, McGregor’s coaches are now convinced that the fighter is fit to return to the octagon. Michael Chandler has been eyeing a fight with McGregor since signing with the UFC. After two years and five fights in the UFC, Chandler’s money fight dream is coming to fruition.

The hype around any fight that involves Conor McGregor sells PPVs irrespective of rankings. In his controversial end to a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor suffered a vicious leg break injury. The Irishman has been inactive since then due to a lengthy recovery window.

Michael Chandler appeared on the MMA Hour podcast with Ariel Helwani to discuss different sides of the upcoming fight. Chandler also discussed the monetary potential of the bout and the PPV buys that it could sell.

I think 2 million is not just a possibility, I think it’s very achievable and very attainable,” Chandler told Ariel Helwani. “Conor knows this fight is going to do big numbers. The UFC knows this is a massive fight,” Chandler added further.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler will be held at welterweight which would give both fighters ample room to make adjustments without compromising weight cuts. The Ultimate Fighter will kick off in May this year and will go on for the rest of the summer.
