Artem Lobov and Conor McGregor had been friends for several years. The Russian mixed martial artist who had only a 7-fight career in the UFC helped The Notorious One train for some of his biggest fights. The Irish fighter was also seen showing support to his friend during fights before the two went on separate paths.

Talking to the Irish Independent, Lobov’s solicitor said, “My client is a retired professional fighter with a master’s degree from DCU in Finance and Capital Markets. We have issued High Court proceedings on his behalf to enforce an agreement with Mr McGregor regarding the Proper No. Twelve whiskey brand. As these matters are now before the court, we will not be making any further comment.”

The 2-5 UFC fighter has now gone on to sue the Irish superstar over millions in a dispute over the popular Irish Whiskey Brand, Proper Twelve. Years ago, Artem claimed that the whiskey business was initially his idea and that Notorious One had actually offered him $1 million which he later turned down.
