“Three people died making this watch” – Conor McGregor’s hilarious reasoning behind why he prefers finishing his opponents

Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor was always in the octagon to finish his opponents. The fighter had his priorities set straight right from the get-go of his UFC career and the video from UFC Fight Night 26 Press conference in 2013 is an example of that.
Of all the wins Conor McGregor has on his resume, his victory over one of the greatest featherweights of all time, Max Holloway, often goes under the radar. Back in 2013, at UFC Fight Night 26, McGregor took on Holloway in a three-round fight and went the distance earning a decision victory. However, McGregor was not happy with just a win. Not getting a finish clearly upset the Irishman and he explained why.
McGregor said he was looking to “get paid” and was not looking for just the winners’ paycheck. The “finish bonus” always was a huge motivation for the Irish fighter. “This promotion runs on finishes and that’s what I’m looking for,” said The Notorious One after his fight in Boston.
The fighter also admitted his lifestyle requires him to get paid in huge amounts. “These custom-made suits aren’t cheap, you know what I mean? This solid-gold pocket watch, three people died making this watch,” added McGregor making the entire room burst into laughter with his wit. He also jokingly said he would run into debt if he didn’t manage to get himself into the big fights.
