Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier fought one of the most brutal fights in UFC history at UFC Vegas 4. Poirier was coming off a title fight loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at the time. On the other hand, Hooker was coming off a brutal fight with Paul Felder, He had also won 7 of his 8 fights after his move up to lightweight. Nonetheless, at UFC Vegas 4, the two lightweights left it all in the octagon.

Hooker comfortably won the first two rounds in the brutal fight, but Poirier rallied back from round 3. The brutal fight took a toll on Hooker. His career has not been the same after the loss. Nonetheless, that did not stop Hooker from eyeing a rematch of the fight. Hooker recently posted highlights of the fight on his social media channels. This is what he captioned the post.

Just a good old fashioned fist fight. Love to run it back but take that for what it is cos I’d love to fight anyone.

Hooker left fight fans in splits with his interest to want a rematch with Poirier. Many still consider the fight to be the best fight of 2020. However, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili had earlier fought an epic fight at UFC 248.

The UFC had scheduled Hooker to fight Bobby Green in the co-main event of UFC Austin. However, he injured his arm, which he broke in the fight with Jalin Turner at UFC 290. Incidentally, Turner replaced him and knocked out Green. As of now, Hooker does not have a fight lined up.

The UFC Vegas 4 headliner between Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier is in the history books. If not for another blood-and-guts war between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili that won the 2020 Fight of the Year. Hooker sent fight fans into a frenzy after he tweeted his interest to fight Poirier again.

Hooker does not have a fight lined up. Poirier has a five-round co-main event booked against Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299. There is a chance for Hooker to rematch Poirier again, and fight fans are hopeful for it in 2024.
