“I don’t need you to believe” – Dan Hooker oozes with confidence despite recent defeats in the octagon
Dan Hooker
Dan Hooker is going through a rough patch in his mixed martial arts career and his last few UFC fights haven’t exactly been the best for him. However, Hooker believes he can still continue to fight in the UFC octagon.
Dan Hooker is a fan favorite and there is no denying that. Despite facing several hurdles inside the octagon, the fighter from New Zealand has never cherry-picked his opponents and has always been a company’s man. “The Hangman” however is 1-4 in his last five fights and when thrown against some of the best in the business.
In a recent interview with MacLife, Dan Hooker talks about his recent downs in the octagon and confirms that he will be continuing to strive to be the best version of himself. “My confidence is not knocked at all,” said Hooker in the interview with MacLife about his recent outings.
All of Dan’s last three defeats have come via finishes. The Kiwi fighter faced the best in Michael Chandler, Islam Makhachev, and Arnold Allen. “I don’t need to convince anyone. I know the circumstances of all those fights. I don’t feel like…I don’t need anyone else to believe in me.”

Dan Hooker claims he still has “self-belief”
“I don’t need you to believe I can do something for me to do it. As long as I have the self-belief and I have the faith. I know full well what I am capable of. I am not going to sit here and scream at the top of my lungs and prove to people what I am capable of,” said Hooker responding to any criticism in the recent past regarding his bad run in the octagon.
Following his devastating defeats in the lightweight division, Hooker decided to go down a weight class and fight in the featherweight division. He recently took on Brendan Allen in a featherweight bout at UFC London. That outing did not end well for the Hangman as he lost the fight via a devastating knockout. Hooker is now 21-12-0 in his professional mixed martial arts career. It is still unsure in which weightclass Hooker’s next bout will be in.
