“We will”- Dana White comments on Nate Diaz’s next fight in the UFC
Dana White on Nate Diaz
Nate Diaz is a well-known superstar and one of Dana White’s favorite competitors. Aside from that, he obtained his BJJ Black Belt’s third-degree stripe. Cesar and Renzo Gracie were both in attendance for the ceremony. Diaz, a black belt under Cesar Gracie, began jiu-jitsu training at the age of 14 and is now 22 years old. In five years, he will be eligible for his fourth degree.
Diaz has been adamant about fighting former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, but he’s also expressed interest in a fight with top-tier UFC lightweight Michael Chandler. Both fights would most likely be fought at welterweight if they were to take place. Diaz has been accusing the UFC of delaying his last fight on purpose in order to keep him from quitting the organization, and this appears to be another manifestation of his wrath.
“Nothing right now”-Dana White hasn’t said anything about Nate Diaz yet, as the Stockton native continues to press for the last fight
Diaz, who is in the midst of his UFC contract’s final bout, has gone to tremendous measures to avoid it. For months, the MMA superstar has been in fruitless talks with the UFC about his next fight. He last competed in June 2021, losing to Leon Edwards by unanimous decision.
He will, however, look to be forced to remain on the sidelines. In an interview with MMA Underground, John Morgan questioned White if Diaz would return to the octagon anytime soon. In response, the UFC president stated: “Nothing right now, but yes we will.”
Diaz has recently been linked to Dustin Poirier, the former interim lightweight champion. They were supposed to fight at UFC 230 in November 2018, but Poirier was forced to pull out due to an injury. The two have now exchanged barbs on social media, although the feud has so far resulted in nothing.
An allegedly leaked snapshot of the UFC’s ‘War Room’ matchmaking board sparked talk of a fight between Diaz and Khamzat Chimaev. White, on the other hand, indicated that the pairings on the board were just for fun and were far from set in stone.
