“Who is this guy?” – Dana White FURIOUSLY blasts reporter for annoying questions about the heavyweight division

Dana White
Dana White is the de-facto head of the UFC, and has been for a very long time. As such, he usually takes all the press duties within his stride.
Usually, he acts very cordially with the press, even joking with them when the right moment comes up. Even if a question slightly pushes back at him, the American usually lets it slide and answers to the best of his knowledge. Yesterday, however, was a different story.
In the aftermath of UFC 281, Dana White was asked by a reporter about the status of the rumoured Jon Jones-Stipe Miocic fight, to which he replied, “I don’t know, he might [never fight again].”, to which the reporter cross-questioned, “That’s true from the negotiations?” to which White replied with, “You said that!”
In the middle of confusing cross-questioning, White said, “What the f*ck are you asking? You’re double talking.”

Amidst the flurry of cross-questioning, the reporter refuses to give up enquiring about the status of the heavyweight division

Clearly then, the reporter wasn’t done asking his questions. He further asked, “What have we got going on with the heavyweight division right now? We have got Ngannou coming off a knee injury, Jones maybe in the wing, Stipe maybe in the wing?” to which White said that he is looking to book Jon Jones against ‘hopefully Francis’.
After all this, the reporter circled right back to his main trajectory – “Okay, so Stipe’s out right now?” By this point, it seemed as if Dana White was done with the vehement interrogation-like questions. He retaliated, saying “Who is this guy?” when the reporter expressed his opinion that the UFC 282 co-main fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev lacks a little star power.
The other takeaway from the reporter’s questions was that Dana White confirmed that the potential match-up between welterweight big-hitters Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington is in the works right now – if speculations are to be given heed, the Swede could take on the #2 ranked American welterweight in England, on the undercard of the Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman trilogy.
Despite the seemingly annoying nature of the reporter’s questions, one must not forget that the 265 pound division’s landscape is extremely ambiguous at the moment. With Francis Ngannou already having been out with injury for around a year, and Jon Jones’ impending arrival – it is a little unclear if and when the title shot is granted to Jones. If Miocic had fought Jones, we would have at least had a clear #1 contender.
Whatever the case, once the details are worked out by the UFC, the heaviest division promises to put up an entertaining landscape for some time to come.
