Dana White has seen his fair share of hilarious moments over the years. These range from weird questions to hilarious requests like ‘Oil me up.’ He recently experienced a laugh-out-loud case of mistaken identity. The popular host, Sage Steele, made a hilarious blunder during a podcast interview. She confused White with Joe Rogan!
The host addressed White as “Joe” towards the end of a two-hour podcast. White quickly picked up on the embarrassing mix-up. With a bewildered chuckle, he corrected her mistake. This is what he said:
Did you just think I was Joe Rogan? She just called me f****** Joe Rogan. You thought I was f****** Joe Rogan? I was bald before Joe was ever bald, ok.Dana White via Sage Steele Podcast
Steele is a well-known sports journalist who has covered various sports events for ESPN. One would assume she could easily distinguish the bald heads of White and Rogan. In fairness to Steele, telling White and Joe Rogan apart isn’t easy. Both are bald men heavily involved in MMA and popular podcasting. However, as an esteemed anchor, one would think she could distinguish the company’s outspoken CEO.
White didn’t let Steele off easy and ribbed her about the obvious blunder. To her credit, Steele took the good-natured roasting in stride. It should be noted that Dana and Joe have quite a good relationship with each other. White continued having fun at her expense until the interview concluded. The humorous moment provided levity amid White’s normally intense promotion of UFC.
Dana White believes Joe Rogan is the best sports commentator
Dana White’s relationship with longtime commentator Joe Rogan has matured over the years. In a candid interview, White heaped high praise on longtime commentator and podcaster. He even went on to declare him the best sports broadcaster ever.
White’s admiration for Rogan stems from his unique ability to educate audiences. He believed that Joe had this incredible way of breaking things down. The host asked him about his relationship with Joe Rogan. This is what he said:
I have a great relationship with Joe Rogan. We couldn’t have a better relationship…He does his thing and he kills it for us. I think he is the best ever.Dana White via The Jake Asman Show
White went on to talk about how the UFC and Rogan grew side by side. He appreciated the long-time commentator and believed he was the best in other things in his life. This is actually true, as his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, is the biggest podcast ever. White also highlighted his invaluable guidance while praising Rogan’s broadcast skills.
