Dana White responded to a question about one of his star fighters after UFC on ESPN 46. Former champion Alex Pereira aims to capture the light heavyweight title after losing the middleweight title. After losing to Israel Adesanya, the former middleweight champion opted to compete in the light heavyweight division. The battle awaiting ‘Poatan’ comes from a former champion Jan Blachowicz.

UFC President Dana White attended the UFC Vegas 74 press conference to discuss future events. White has always been the one who gets a clear picture of a fighter’s future. This time again, Dana answered about his former champion, who stepped into the light heavyweight division. A reporter asked the 53-year-old to answer on Alex Pereira’s future if he secured a win against Jan Blachowicz.

Dana White disclosed the impact on the light heavyweight division if Alex Pereira defeats the former champion. White clarified, “Nothing is ever guaranteed.” on Pereira’s claim of becoming the next title challenger. White added, “But yeah if he beats Jan he’s in a pretty damn good spot. Not a bad place to be if you beat Jan.

Pereira and Jan will compete on the UFC 291 card. White revealed the fight card to steal attention away from Francis Ngannou’s new contract with the PFL. Pereira and Jan will act as the co-main event attraction. The card will feature the BMF title fight between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.

Alex Pereira will soon hope to make an impact in the light heavyweight division. He will fight Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City. Jan aims to regain the throne that he lost in 2021. Blachowicz can secure the title shot if he can defeat Pereira at UFC 291.

Jan did get the chance to get the belt back against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 282. The 40-year-old has one of the hardest punches in the division, and so does Alex Pereira. For Dana White, it was easy to make a bout between two of the hardest hitters. At UFC 291, it will be a fifteen-minute bout to decide the next challenger for the title.

Alex Pereira remains open to a new matchup against the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. ‘Poatan’ might look to rechallenge Izzy, but this time in the light heavyweight division if he can secure the title.
