Dana White has decided to take matters into his own hands, after deeming the decision to draw insane by the judges on the Doo Ho Choi vs Kyle Nelson fight. Dana will now be paying him his full purse based on his perspective.
Doo Ho Choi vs. Kyle Nelson in UFC Vegas 68 ended in a draw. This was mainly due to the point deduction that Choi got because of an accidental headbutt. The reaction to the result was that of Choi being robbed since the headbutt was unintentional.
Dana had similar thoughts and decided that he was still going to pay Choi his full winner’s purse. “Sometimes ref’s and the judge’s decision may be imperfect”, he said.

Dana White recognized that Doo Ho Choi had won the fight and because of this, he decided to pay him his full purse. With fighter pay becoming a major concern for the organization, this decision by him might just alleviate the issue for a little while.

Dana White, according to him and a few fans, has taken the right decision and given to the fighter what was rightfully his. But this decision by him is also being met with criticism.
Fans are inquiring why Dana didn’t take a similar decision when similar injustice happened with Jared Gordon against Paddy Pimblett or with Petr Yan against Sean O’Malley. They seem convinced that Dana favors certain fighters and it is showing.
Don’t insult the refs or question officiating!! The commissioner might fine you! Eeek

So why not give Gordon his win money instead of saying "don't leave it to the hands of the judges"

Favor or no favor, what Dana White has done for the sake of Doo Ho Choi is helpful for the fighter. His record already has a draw on it which wasn’t a draw, but at least he will be happy knowing that the [resident of UFC knew that he had won – hence the winner’s purse.
