UFC CEO Dana White had some contentious moments to handle at UFC 296. A fight broke out between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland. The security escorted Strickland out of the arena. Before that, White had to remove streamer N3on from attendance at the event. The reason was due to the streamer threatening Donald Trump on a live stream.

N3on vowed to talk sh*t to Donald Trump at UFC 296, irrespective of the presence of the Secret Service. However, the security personnel denied entry for the streamer and confirmed the refund of his ticket. Dana White answered about the removal at the post-fight press conference. This is what he had to say about N3on.

He said some st*pid sh*t on Instagram... When you start saying st*pid sh*t like that. Yeah, you're probably gonna get busted up, and thrown out of here. Making threats and talking d*mb sh*t...looking for clout.....f**king punk.

Dana White was furious about the streamer as Trump is White’s very close friend. White walked along with Trump for the event and remained cage-side for the event. However, Trump’s attendance did not help his superfan Colby Covington win the undisputed welterweight title from Leon Edwards. Covington lost the fight via unanimous decision and won just the final round of the five-round fight.

Unlike the main event of UFC 296, the co-main event had a fast pace. Brandon Royal and Alexandre Pantoja engaged in an action-packed fight, with Pantoja having the upper hand. Nevertheless, Royval showed impeccable toughness to stay dangerous until the end.

Dana White disappointed in the performance of Colby Covington at UFC 296

UFC 296 had so much drama due to Colby Covington’s remarks about Leon Edwards’ dead father at the press conference. White was not a fan of the incident. However, he refused to instruct his fighters, citing the freedom he provided for them.

Moreover, White found Covington to be ‘old’ and ‘slow’ at the fight. White found Edwards’ precision and speed to be troubling for Edwards. In the past, White had stated that Covington would’ve been champion if not for Kamaru Usman. However, his views have changed since the fight at UFC 296.

Covington, after the loss, targets Stephen Thompson for his next fight. Thomspon also fought at UFC 296. He lost to Shavkat Rakhmonov in a second-round submission. Covington had earlier called Thompson and his father a ‘pedophile’ at the press conference. Thompson, one of the nicest fighters in the UFC, has lost 3 of his past four fights. Like Covington, Thompson has also fought for the undisputed welterweight title multiple times but was unsuccessful.
