Dana White (L), Joe Pyfer (R)
Dana White is an easy man to impress, and an even easier man to piss off when it comes to his fighters. He has shown that he likes his fighters to be loyal to the company and to the cause – that is, fighting. Evidently, Joe Pyfer is a man in his good books.
Recently, Dana White’s good side has been on full display as an export of Dana White’s Contender Series, Joe Pyfer has come out and make claims about his boss which only bring to attention the things he chooses to do for his fighters.
In multiple press scrums and his post-fight interview, Joe Pyfer thanked Dana White for giving him $50,000 cash in hand to buy himself a house (he was homeless prior to that) and also let him ride around in his Ferrari in Las Vegas. While the latter seems to be perk of making the boss happy, the former is a testament to the fact that White does show care for his fighters.
Speaking about it after the latest event of DWCS, he said, “I do a lot of things for a lot of people that I don’t necessarily talk about. Joe Pyfer, when I left the press conference that night, he told me he was about to be homeless, so… that ain’t gonna happen!”

His statement implies him providing for his fighters when they are in need of it, without explicitly showcasing his altruism to the media.

Dana White recently battled controversy when he gave a NELK Boys member $250,000 cash for his birthday

This is in stark contrast to the Dana White that has been printed all over mainstream media – a fight mogul stealing bread off of the fighters’ table, and minting the wealth for his own private purposes.
The biggest “alleged’’ violation of the fighters’ trust came at the hands of him giving Kyle, of the NELK Boys two hundred fifty grand for his birthday. The problem with this gesture was the fact that the NELK Boys are quite massive on YouTube and do not exactly need any cash hand-outs. When not attending UFC events, they party with internet stars, albeit, some extremely controversial, like Andrew Tate.

Dana White has also been a staunch defender of the pay scale of the fighters, despite many of them working multiple jobs to put food on the table. For instance, Maria Agapova, a Kazakh fighter who was in the news for almost choking on her own tongue, said that she got injured because she couldn’t afford to get a vital surgery done. She currently works a second job as a bouncer.
So, Dana White’s altruism has come at a good time for him, whether it be a PR stunt or him actually helping the fighter out, given the fact that fighters with big names, for instance, Mark Hunt, Luke Rockhold and Jake Paul have thrown sharp jabs at White.
Whether or not this action will be replicated in the future is yet to be known, but if Dana White intends to repair his public image, he must start by hearing out some of what the fighters have to say regarding their pay structure.
