UFC CEO and helmsman, Dana White gets into deep waters for a lot of reasons. Starting from the UFC facing $1.6 Billion in damages to cussing out prized fighter Jon Jones for money demands. The latter of which saw the unsealing of many unfavorable details as part of a class-action lawsuit to his UFC 300 announcement getting a bad reception. Followed by finding himself amid a sexual trafficking lawsuit drama. But one that lingers even further is the controversies around Bud Light.

Prone to announcing key matchups via social media and IG Lives, White remains very active with his social media snippets. The promotional taskmaster is quite habitual in posting a reel or two. But never would he have wondered that a reel on making Pizzas would fire back so hard! Latest footage of him experimenting with an upside-down pizza fired back direly when keen-eyed fans saw him touting a Bud Light shirt.

ESPN MMA‘s Marc Raimondi reported on a 6-year deal, last year, putting things into perspective. UFC’s $100 million deal with Bud Light beer was shrugged out of potency due to the Dylan Mulvaney controversy. Both faced backlash for the supposed unhinged promotion of trans-activist tendencies. CEO Anheuser-Busch‘s sponsorship deal ended in 2019, making way for Modelo’s new eight-figure renewed promise.

However, Bud Light prevailed as the official beer for the promotion. Despite Joe Rogan critiquing it on The JRE MMA Show #1972, Bud Light roping in Rogan’s association came out as PR damage control. Ever since then, fight fans of the combat sports circle haven’t shied away from taking a dig at this continued association; they do so again zealously, with White in tow.

Fight fans sneer at Dana White on ‘Bud Light’ controversy

Bud Light beer advertising any resemblance of controversial trans-activist Dylan Mulvaney on their product lines did not sit well with a group of conservative fans. Additionally, Dana White and Co. continually associating with the company also irked fans in the long run. Fuelled by the like of unhinged “people’s champion” Sean Strickland taking free passes at digs at transgender promotion and inclusiveness, many fans boycotted the product.

White justifying the correlation in light of a $700 million lucrative spending yield did not veer any minds. The MMA community gibes at the association any chance they get. One such instance sees Dana White wearing a tee with a Bud Light monogram. A prime reaction on IG mocked – “Nice gay pride shirt.”And it isn’t the only one.

White has been ardently conforming to honoring his partnership with the company. Former heavyweight veteran Brock Lesnar had even faced his wrath, for cutting a mean promo at UFC 100 that took a diss at Bud Light beer.

However, a multitude of fans have alluded to the notion that even such efforts can save the reputation of the failing company now. Others have sneered at White for his continued support of the brand.
