The UFC continued putting on events during the Covid -19 pandemic despite the difficulty. President Dana White took the UFC to new heights after introducing Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. Despite the restrictions worldwide, White managed to put forth some great PPV events for fans. While the duration on Fight Island was more hectic for Dana, he managed to have some fun for himself.

White managed to clock out 200 miles per hour on the streets of Abu Dhabi in a Ferrari F8 Tributo. In the video, Dana expressed his desire always to go 200 miles per hour on land. Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism awarded him a golden visa a day before his adventure in Ferrari. Dana White rode to a freeway where he would easily manage to go at a ridiculous pace without any interference.

Thoroughly determined, Dana started with 250 kilometers per hour, roughly 155 miles per hour in his joy ride. The vehicle gained momentum quickly and, within seconds, clocked in at 324 kilometers per hour or 202 miles per hour to accomplish White’s goal. Apart from achieving 200 miles per hour of speed, Dana White accomplished much on Fight Island.

UFC saw a drastic increase in its viewership base and gained popularity amongst the masses for being the only sports organization putting up events during the pandemic. It was a huge gamble that paid off very well.

He also helped fighters with the means to earn money. This was made possible due to Dana’s persistence and Abu Dhabi’s willingness to provide a venue amidst the pandemic.

Due to the growing relationship and partnership with MMA‘s best promotion, Dana was provided with a distinction. Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism presented White with a UAE golden visa before UFC 267. The golden visa offers the holder a 10-year residency on a renewable basis. Apart from that, it also permits the individual to have multiple entries into UAE. The holder can stay out of the country for more than six months without renewing his visa.

Dana’s Fight Island initiative set an example for many other sports organizations as they adapted to the bubble model. UFC’s viewership base surged due to their Fight Island initiative and being the only company that put on events.
