The UFC CEO Dana White is friends with big names from different fields other than combat sports. White is a longtime friend of former US President Donald Trump. Donald Trump along with Kid Rock and Tucker Carlson attended the recently concluded UFC 295. Interestingly, Trump, Carlson, and the singer walked out to his song ‘American Badass.’ The trio received one of the biggest reception in the arena.

Kid Rock recently appeared on Sean Hannity‘s show on Fox. He talked about his interaction with the CEO of Anheuser-Bush. Anheuser Bush is the parent company of Bud Light. This is what he had to say about the exchange:

I'm standing there with our favorite president and someone comes over like, 'The CEO of Anheuser-Busch is standing right behind you.' So I go to POTUS I'm like, 'Hey, that's the CEO of Anheuser-Busch.' Trump's like, 'You want to go talk to him?' I'm like, 'I do.' So me and him go over.

Bud Light recently did a controversial advertisement with Dylan Mulvaney, who is a transgender influencer. The advertisement did not go well with a section of the American public. Many, including Kid Rock, boycotted the beer company after the advertisement. The company’s sales dropped massively.

Interestingly, Bud Light and the UFC recently signed a $105 million-a-year deal with the company. Bud Light will replace Modelo as the UFC’s global beer partner in 2024. The UFC’s decision was lamented by many, even within the UFC. UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland was very vocal about the UFC signing with Bud Light. Strickland is known for his conservative views and has made anti-trans remarks in the past.

Dana White’s UFC ends 6-year partnership with Mexican beer brand Modelo

The Mexican beer brand Model will cease to be UFC’s official bear in 2024. Dana White and the UFC recently signed a deal with Anheuser-Busch, making it their new global beer partner from 2024. They were the original beer partner of the UFC before the UFC signed a deal with Modelo in 2017.

The iconic catchphrase ‘root for those with a fighting spirit’ popular on the UFC broadcast is that of Modelo’s. Moreover, the beer company also promoted its advertisements during the UFC PPVs.

In the recent UFC 295 PPV at MSG headlined by Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka, Dustin Poirier did the Modelo promotion. Interestingly, Modelo and Bud Light both fall under the parent company AB InBev. It is the largest multinational drink and brewing company headquartered in Belgium.

The UFC signing with Bud Light created a big controversy. The promotion even lost a lot of subscriptions after the deal. Nevertheless, White doubled down on his deal. In a recent podcast appearance with Theo Von, White detailed the reason why he signed with the company.
