Daniel Cormier, who at one time was one of the most dangerous fighters on earth’s surface, is surely a legend of the sport. At 5’11”, Cormier was comparatively smaller than other fighters in his division but that didn’t stop him from becoming a UFC double champion. No matter how innocent and sweet he looks on the TV, Cormier was a ruthless force of nature back in his prime.

Cormier hung the gloves after losing to Stipe Miocic twice in title fights in 2020. The fighter is loved by the fans and was welcomed when he decided to join UFC as a commentator and presenter. In 2022, Cormier also got inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame panel which he truly deserves.

Daniel Cormier along with co-host Ryan Clark recently appeared in a new episode of the popular ESPN MMA show, DC & RC. The show is known for the duo talking about MMA, Pay-per-view events, and UFC superstars. Recently during the show, a viral tweet made by a fan was brought up. In the tweet, the fan claimed if DC and Tyson ever fought in a street fight, the former UFC champion would take the win.

To which Cormier replied back by explaining that he can win the fight as in the street he is going to have a wrestling advantage and on top of that, he can use anything because there are no rules. DC then revealed that he would not fight Tyson as he loves the retired boxer a lot but he is sure that he can beat Tyson in a hypothetical situation.

” Ryan, I tap in because in a street fight, I’m wrestling everybody, I’m wrestling everybody to the ground and in a street fight you grab bottles, you can use everything. But RC, more than the fight, because I love Mike, he’s my boy and I would never raise a finger to harm Mike Tyson, the only reason I say that is I’m a little bit jolly. But look at a picture of me on the scale with my chain [from his fighting days], I know you saw my bling out there, I don’t even wear that any more,” said DC.

It’s true that while in a street fight a wrestler does have an upper hand as there are no rules. With skills as fine as Cormier, he could have absolutely demolished any opponent with his wrestling and ground and pound. On the other hand, Tyson in his prime had that brute power to punch through opponents. It’s surely a rather entertaining hypothetical match-up to think about.
