“How you beat me” – Daniel Cormier taunts Islam Makhachev as his student takes him down at AKA

Islam Makhachev, Daniel Cormier, and Khabib Nurmagomedov all train at The American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose. Cormier, who is also a wrestling coach, recently shared a video of Makhachev wrestling with Chase Saldate. In the clip, Chase Saldate after struggling a lot finally succeeded in getting a takedown against Makhachev. In the caption, DC hilariously mentioned how his student was able to beat the Dagestani.
He wrote: “@islam_makhachev champ, brother maybe I got a little arrogant against you. Even tho I won the match I overlook you. How you beat me when my student take you down! ? watch the camera guys brother I find footage. I pinned @chasesaldate in finals. I am the champion” below his Instagram post.
Chase is a great talent and has a great future in wrestling. Training at AKA allowed him to train and spar with the Dagestani fighters. There are several videos posted by the AKA gym where Chase has been seen sparring with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Makhachev.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev react to Daniel Cormier’s new post about Islam Makhachev
The new UFC lightweight champion, Makhachev joined The American Kickboxing Academy along with Khabib Nurmagomedov years back. At AKA, they met Cormier and it was the beginning of their brotherly relationship. They are popular for their banters and the fans absolutely love them.
After DC posted the clip to jokingly mock Makhachev, Nurmagomedov commented on the post by saying, “My boys” along with Nurmagomedov, Makhachev also participated in it by sharing his story of how he threw Chase with ease.
He wrote: “The most famous takedown in history of freestyle wrestling is when I threw Chase, so he’s not a challenge for me ???”
Makhachev’s training at AKA under head coach, Javier Mendez has helped the fighter a lot. During his fight with Charles Oliveira, he was able to outstrike the Brazilian and submit. It was a statement for all the fight fans who thought Makhachev can’t strike.
