Love him or hate him, Daniel Cormier remains a true sensation behind the mic. The UFC commentator catches flack from the likes of Charles Johnson time and again. In the case of his supposed biased commentary. Then there are times when his peculiar reactions draw much fan favoritism. However, the host of the ‘DC&RC’ Show podcast was going without a partner. But fret not, cause Chael Sonnen has come to the rescue.
Cormier hosted the ‘DC&RC’ Show podcast along with Ryan Clark (of NFL fame). However, in the “All Good Things Must Come to an End: 2/13” segment (ESPN Podcenter), Clark bowed out. As such, Cormier replaced him with Chael Sonnen for the MMA Show Weekly. Chael owns his share of gripping tales as the guy who revolutionized trash-talks in the promotion history. Even color commentator Joe Rogan has acknowledged him on this.

Sonnen might not hold high ranks in best face-offs in UFC; he, however, remains undefeated in dubbing down his opposition. Even away from the scope of fighting, he still voices some alluring yet unhinged reflections on current fighters in his Beyond the Fight podcast. Fans are not settling on this communion though. While some are excited, others remain doubtful.
A prime reaction to this came – “This is the most poorly made advertisement I’ve ever seen.” This comes in light of Sonnen himself taking to X and congratulating Cormier and an official banner for ESPN Podcenter. Concurrently, a lot of other fans have reacted to this minimalistic advertisement as well.
MMA Community reacts to Chael Sonnen joining DC&RC
Chael Sonnen and Daniel Cormier remain the top dogs of the combat sports bubble. Attributing to his dominant wrestling, Cormier was to face then-top prospect Sonnen rather than Rashad Evans. But with a tactical pullback from Sonnen’s graphic and PR team, the fight never happened.
Despite that, the duo have maintained some sense of amiability over the years. ‘The Bad Guy’ once slammed Conor McGregor as a “snitch” for calling Daniel Cormier a drunkard and fat mess. However, the two link up for real this time.

Cormier’s ‘DC&RC’ Show podcast is transitioning to Cormier-and-Chael-Sonnen’s ‘Good Guy-Bad Guy‘ MMA Weekly. This is what fans think of it –
Some fans are against it; some are all for it. The show’s previous co-host, Superbowl champ Ryan Clark took a bow recently. Some fans have quipped that he was ‘canceled’ in light of his terrific review of the WMMA bantamweight division after UFC 297. Raquel Pennington defeated Mayra Bueno Silva at UFC 297. And holding up to Julianna Peña‘s statements of this being a horrible fight, the fight was lackluster.
Clark had advocated to scrap the division altogether. Fans are fearful that his exit might be a consequence of that. Alongside, some have also hinted that a non-MMA base co-host made the show ‘boring’. As such, they are hopeful that Sonnen in the mix would change that situation soon.
