Deiveson Figueiredo makes a shocking claim that he has a spy in Brandon Moreno’s training camp
Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno are set to unify the flyweight titles at UFC 283 in the main event. They are the very best the flyweight division has to offer. The two are tied in their first three fights against each other.
Their first bout ended in a draw, with Moreno winning the second one by submission. However, Figueiredo got his revenge six months later beating Moreno at UFC 270. While promoting the January PPV in Rio De Janeiro, Figueiredo made a claim that sounded like it came straight out of a movie.
Moreno talked about his game plan during the press conference as he said, “I’m still thinking I won the fight, but I definitely made mistakes in my last combat against Deiveson. Right now we have a specific plan, and that’s it. I don’t wanna say nothing extra because he has videos and everything, he’s following me, so that’s it. That’s my gameplay, surprise him.” In response to this, Deiveson Figueiredo prompted, “I’ve infiltrated someone in your team.”
Moreno lost their most recent bout however, he did manage to clinch the interim title from Kai Kara-France at UFC 277. The pair head into their fourth match against each other at UFC 283 in Brazil. Even though Moreno claimed that he wants to surprise his opponent, given that this is their fourth Figueiredo insinuated that Moreno has lost the ability to surprise him. However, all shall be revealed in Brazil at UFC 283.
Deiveson Figueiredo offered Brandon Moreno his belt at the press conference
The back and forth between the two heated rivals did not end there. As the two posed, Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno continued their jabs at one another. As they faced off, Deiveson Figueiredo continued to mock Moreno, claiming that he was in Brazil, Figueiredo’s hometown and that he would have the advantage here, not Moreno.
Eventually, the two champions of the flyweight division had their belts brought to them. This seemed to fuel the fire as Figueiredo showed his belt off to Moreno, teasing him. And as they posed with their titles, Figueiredo offered Moreno his title. However, Moreno kept his cool and simply replied, “January 21st”. It seems Moreno has learned to not engage with him under such circumstances.
As the banter and antics continue to get more heated, the hype for this fight seems to be high. With the one winning this grudge match finally being able to claim bragging rights, both fighters will assuredly give it their all. Nevertheless, regardless of who wins their 4th bout, fans are guaranteed a barnstormer as they have come to expect from these two.
