Brazilian MMA fighter Jose Aldo recently got inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame alongside many fighting legends. The former UFC champion also enjoyed meeting Donald Trump when he attended UFC 290. Besides their love for the fight game, Aldo and Trump have another thing in common. Both have supported and remain close to Brazil’s Ex-President, Jair Bolsonaro.
The former President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, is a highly controversial figure in Brazil. He was under investigation in at least four criminal probes, and his government was also responsible for the scandal in the Amazon rainforest. Bolsonaro fled his country two days before his term ended and resided in one of Jose Aldo’s properties. The former featherweight champion was criticized and accused of being a fascist for housing Jair.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump was also a big supporter of Bolsonaro. He endorsed the ex-president during Brazil’s presidential elections and called him a friend. After the violent protest from people supporting Bolsonaro, Trump remains quiet on the topic. Both fight fans and supporters of Jair Bolsonaro met during the International Fight Week card.
Donald Trump’s attendance at UFC 290 was very well received, like many of his appearances at other UFC events. Jose Aldo greeted Donald Trump enthusiastically and clicked a picture with Donald Trump and Dana White. From being honored by becoming a Hall Of Famer to meeting with Donald Trump, Aldo surely had a great time.
Jose Aldo reacts to his Hall of Fame induction

Last weekend, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo got inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame. Before his defeat against McGregor, he had an unbeaten winning streak for over ten years. Aldo was also the featherweight champion at World Extreme Cagefighting before it was absorbed into the UFC. With so many fights against legendary fighters, Aldo had one of the best careers in MMA history.
The Brazilian fighter was in tears when he was inducted into the Hall Of Fame along with Anderson Silva, Donald Cerrone, and more. In a recent interview with MMA Junkie radio, Aldo talked about his experience getting inducted into the modern wing of the Hall Of Fame. “Yes, it was very emotional. It’s my dream, man. The first dream was the UFC championship, but the goal is to give more than the dream. This was very emotional for me,” said Aldo.
Aldo retired in 2022, contesting in the bantamweight division. He lost his last fight in UFC via a decision against #1 ranked bantamweight fighter Merab Dvalishvili. He retired with a record of 31 wins, eight losses and defended his featherweight title 7 times in UFC.
