UFC fighter Dustin Poirier has revealed his Thanksgiving plans, which include a novel and tasty dish that could upset animal rights activists. Poirier and stand-up comedian Theo Von have revealed that they will spend Thanksgiving together at Poirier’s home in Louisiana.

Poirier expressed his excitement for the holiday season in an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. Dustin Poirier’s remark about cooking a Turducken, a delicacy that entails placing a chicken inside a duck and then both within a turkey, piqued the interest of many. This is what he said:

I got a turducken. Might put that in the smoker for nine hours or so... I think the duck goes in the chicken, the chicken goes in the turkey... PETA's worst nightmare.

This will not be Theo Von’s first Thanksgiving with Poirier. Poirier said Von attended the previous year’s holiday, emphasizing their real connection. Poirirer’s last fight was against Justin Gaethje for the BMF title, which he lost via KO. He has since then advocated to fight at UFC 300, a historic card in its own right. Poirier stated in the interview that he had a nice talk with UFC executives regarding the possibility of his participation in UFC 300. This is what he stated:

Yeah, I sat down with the UFC, we talked about it [UFC 300]. And they're kind of on the same page as me. If we could get the right opponent that makes sense for a big fight, then we could do it.

Poirier stressed that he is not interested in just any fight for the sake of inclusion. He expressed a desire for a fight that would either guarantee him a championship opportunity or pay well. Currently, no definite opponent for Poirier at UFC 300 has been identified, and he has said that nothing has been finalized.
