Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, are both top stars in the combat industry. Both of the fighters have proven themselves inside the octagon. Moreover, both have found successful business ventures outside of the sport. So let’s take a look and compare their respective business ventures.

The Irishman has earned money via advertising and numerous sponsorships. The Proper 12 Irish whisky, however, has to be his most lucrative venture. In 2018, Conor McGregor, Audie Attar, and Ken Austin created their own whisky firm. According to statistics, Proper 12 contributed to the US whisky market reaching $1 billion in sales in 2019. For “The Notorious One,” Proper 12 has proven to be a very lucrative commercial enterprise.

Dustin Poirier collaborated with Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. to launch his own hot sauce line, Pourier’s Louisiana Style. The  UFC fighter’s brand honors Louisiana where he was raised as his home state. Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. is a Canadian business that specializes in creating different types of hot sauces. This hot sauce is available for $12 per piece. Poirier’s brand of hot sauce is gluten-free and vegan, according to Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co.

The Diamond might have gotten the better of the Irishman a few times inside the Octagon. But it is obvious that Conor McGregor has been more financially successful and has a better business venture than Dustin Poirier.

When Dustin Poirier brought a bottle of his sauce for the Irishman

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier had a humorous exchange at the UFC 257 news conference when the Irishman praised his opponent and claimed he would love to try Poirier’s hot sauce. Poirier replied that he got a bottle for him.

To which Conor replied, “I’d appreciate that. I’ve got a bottle of Proper (McGregor’s whiskey brand) for you. I’d love to share that.” In contrast to the first time they faced each other in 2014, there was only respect between the two UFC fighters as they traded bottles of hot sauce and whisky.

Conor McGregor later lost consecutive fights to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 and UFC 264. The Irishman had an injury at UFC 264 that forced him out of action for close to a year. However, the Notorious One has fully recovered from the leg injury and is set to return next year.
