Ex-UFC fighter Jake Shields had once again chimed in on the vaccine controversy. This time, it was against an American business mogul. When billionaire CEO Mark Cuban attacked Joe Rogan for his alleged vaccine misinformation, Shields decided to clap back at Cuban.
Recently Joe Rogan went on a tirade attacking pharmaceutical companies. This tweet garnered a lot of attention from fans and haters alike. American businessman Mark Cuban called out the UFC commentator for ‘generalizing’ the whole industry. In the midst of doing so, Cuban promoted his company ‘Cost Plus Drugs.’ This prompted fans to attack the business mogul. Among many, Jake Shields was one of them.
“I see you also make money in the vaccine industry,” tweeted Shields at Mark Cuban. The promotion of Cuban’s company in the tweet going at Joe Rogan left a sour taste in Shield’s mouth. This received a lot of likes from the conservative sphere, as the ex-UFC fighter is now known for his reactionary presence on the platform. He alongside Joe Rogan tends to be on the same side of the argument as they play a huge part in the right-wing media.
Since his UFC and StrikeForce days, Jake Shields has transitioned into a conservative talker. On Twitter, the fighter often tweets about his theories regarding vaccines, homosexuality, and climate change. Although these takes receive a lot of flak, his reactionary fanbase has the tendency to back him.
What did Joe Rogan have to say about the pharmaceutical companies?
UFC commentator Joe Rogan has always combatted vaccine theories. This time, his disavowing of pharmaceutical companies garnered a lot of attention. Due to personalities like Mark Cuban and Jake Shields getting involved, the controversy echoed through several spaces on the platform. So, what was the tweet that Joe Rogan posted that got the billionaire CEO to attack him?
“If you could assure that the industry you were representing wasn’t completely captured by heartless monsters who have a history of some of the biggest criminal fines in human history,” tweeted Joe Rogan. The tweet was directed at self-proclaimed ‘Democracy Enthusiast’ Tom Nichols. “It would be a great suggestion if the industry you were defending didn’t occasionally look at human beings as an opportunity to generate insane wealth regardless of the tragic consequences,” said Rogan.
“But you can’t do that, so… maybe it would be a good idea to have a f****** debate,” ended Joe Rogan. This was quite a reaction, even from the UFC commentator. His rage toward the pharmaceutical companies was evident in this tweet. The podcast host also holds debates and combative personalities to challenge certain ideologies that he or the guest possesses.
