“Please just stay alive” – Fans fear for Islam Makhachev as Dagestani goes mountain-biking following no-fight announcement

Islam Makhachev has not fought since his controversial win over Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284. Following the bout, Makhachev went into fasting for Ramadan, and the UFC decided to keep the Dagestani fighter out of competition until the Abu Dhabi PPV card later this year. Due to boredom, Islam Makhachev went mountain biking which captured the attention of the fans.

Makhachev captured the UFC lightweight title last year in Abu Dhabi. He defeated former champion Charles Oliveira for the title. The champion has dominated the octagon since his knockout loss at UFC 192. He is currently on a 12-fight winning streak and awaiting the next challenge of his championship reign.

Makhachev had to wait two years after his Khabib Nurmagomedov retired to fight for the title. He ran through fighters like Dan Hooker, Drew Dober, Bobby Green, and Thiago Moises to earn the title fight. No lightweight fighter has provided a difficult challenge to Makhachev. The biggest challenge of his career came against featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.

The featherweight neutralized the dominant wrestling of the Dagestani fighter and even managed to drop Makhachev in the final round. Many, including Joe Rogan, felt that Volkanovski deserved the victory. Makhachev has not fought since his controversial fight at UFC 284. He will most likely challenge the winner of Charles Oliveira vs. Beneil Dariush’s bout at UFC 289.

Fans go wild after Islam Makhachev goes for dangerous mountain biking

With no fight announcement imminent, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev went for a dangerous mountain bike in his leisure time. He should improve his skills cardio, grappling,watch tape do research on volkanoski and dariush during time off but he is still on rest which is not good idea, fighters only improve during time off,not during training camps,all fighters are working always and getting better
